Humic Acid...
I'm a soil grower and have heard good things about Humic Acid. So...I just got some Soil Syrup (humic acid - 12%) and some MycoBoost (beneficial fungi) and am wondering before I add to my schedule, is there a specific time or stage I should discontinue use?
Is it ok for flowering stage? Late flowering...?
I use FF Grow Big with an occational jolt of Superthrive during veg. and Tiger Bloom for flower. I think it's too late for my flowering ladies right now, (6 weeks) but want to make sure it's ok for next months beauties.

Humic Acid...
Humic acid is an ingredient in several fertilizers, including the pure blend pro bloom, so you should be fine. I'd use it much lighter than the bottle recommends.
However, its primary function is as a soil conditioner, and I've always just used it when I flush, just a small amount in the final stage of the flush when you also add a small amount of complete grow fert.
So, my instinct is to just use it when you are flushing or trying to correct a lockout or salt tox situation.

Humic Acid...
K, thanks Stinky.
So it's ok throughout entire grow, at least while using lighter dose?
I flush my flowering ladies twice, but sometimes three times if I see any signs of nute lock-out. Since I have to adjust my well water (7.9 ph) using phosphoric acid, I compensate with a little extra iron. This sometimes results in minor nute lock-out, thus requiring the extra flush. I'm still trying to find out why the nute lock-out only happens once in a while, but may be strain dependant...?
Also...I add 1tsp phosphoric acid to 5 gal of well water to get ph to 6.8ph. Any idea on how to convert this so I can figure it into my ferts N-P-K numbers? Or is that even enough to change my #'s at all.
Thanks again...RT

Humic Acid...
Why can't everyone just use the damned metric system. Fuck. Why do we have to be 'different' with our ooooh fancy base-12 BULLSHIT. Dammit. Determining %v/v with units like teaspoon and gallon makes my head hurt.
Okay hang on one sec. H3PO4=mw 98.0
1 tsp=4.93mL call it .005L
5 gal=18.93L call it 20L (proportionally the rounding works)
Checking my acid storage cabinet, I see that we've got it as an 85% solution, standard for packaging it in concentrated form. At 85% standard concentration, it's 15.2 Molar, 45.6 Normal. Damn that bottle is heavy! And DAMN is that a high normality... shit's tri-protic... DON'T spill any, hahaha!
Okay back to chemistry...
15.2m/L = Xm/.005L
X=.076
Your teaspoon contains .076mol of the acid.
H3PO4 weighs in at 98.0g/mol
98.0g/1mol=Xg/.076mol
X=7.448g.
Now the step that is easy to forget, of that 7.448, how much is Phosphorous?
The molecular weight of P is 30.97 g/mol. There's only one P in the molecule.
30.97/98.0= 31.6% phosphorous.
Your teaspoon contains 2.35g of P.
2.35g/20L for a %w/w in water is 2.35g/20,000g
Doing this as %w/w, your %Phosphorous from the pH down you are using is .000177%...
No need to fret, it won't interfere with your feeding schedule!
This from Kathleen Carroll:

Oh, metric. You??re the one.
You make measuring more fun.
Based on ten. Let??s start again
And go the metric way.
There was once a family of giants
And Kilo was their name.
They were all so huge and tall
And no two were the same.
Now, Kilogram, he weighed a lot
And Kilometer was long.
Kiloliter was big and wet.
Each one was a thousand strong.
Refrain
There also were some tiny elves
Who had the name of Milli.
One one thousandth??they??re so small
To think of them seems silly!
Refrain
Now milligrams, they don??t weigh much.
And millimeters are short.
A milliliter??s a tiny drop
Of liquid they report.
Refrain
So, grams you may have noticed
Are things you can weigh.
Length is meter, liquid??s liter.
That??s the metric way.

Humic Acid...
I sung that in my head to the tune of rubber ducky, unfortunately it wouldn't let me rep you for that one.
On the relevant side, thanks for the post, I had a bottle of humic that I haven't touched yet, and now I think I'm gonna give it a try.

Humic Acid...
WOW...and shows the work, too. Very impressive.
So, you just divide the total weight per volume of the phosphorous, multiplied by percentage dilution divided by number of ions per gram...
OK...I think you lost me there, but am TOTALLY willing to accept the findings, lol.
Thanks bunches.
