THC Degradation?
I was wondering if there is any difference between various storage methods and the degradation of THC. Somewhere on these boards i read that after a certain amount of time, you can expect to lose about 40% potency/year.
assuming this number is accurate, would any of the following help with long term storage?
1: Cooking into food
2: Creating green dragon
3: Vacuum Packing cured bud
4: Vacuum Packing food
5: Freezing & Vacuum Packing Food, GD, or Bud
Keeping out of the sun is assumed.
Cheers

THC Degradation?
Well... THC is destroyed by light and air's oxygen. So if you find a way to protect the THC from both, it will be very safe.
Ive heard that in the buds the THC is stored into the cells, and when we cook with it the cells are broken and the THC is released. So, i think storing cured bud would be the safest method, as the THC would be double protected, as it would be safely stored into the cells.
Vacuum packing seems a very good way to avoid contact with air... so i would choose the option 3. And store it in a dark and cool place.

i like the idea of the air-tight dark purple glass bottle. but i dont like the idea of vacuum sealing the marijuana. i dont like compressed bud, it seems like you dont get as many joints out of it as you would get out of fluffy weed.

foodsaver makes jars to vacuum seal. if you have the machine and dont want to buy those jars you can just get a mason jar and poke holes on the top and wrap the bag around the jar and seal it. no crush. i also use this method to speed up the curing process. i also realize this is an old ass thread. sry for bumping it
