I quit smoking and the pain is terrible...?

    Hi all;

I am 27 and have smoked on and off for 10 years. I quit in September 2006 and started again in early November.

Due to my current employment situation - I was able to get high much more frequently than ever in my life. I was high non-stop for a whole month (4-5 times per day).

I quit on the 4th of November, and shortly thereafter I have experienced tremendous restlessness and anxiety. I also have much pain in my neck shoulder & biceps. There is nothing else in my life that changed or would have caused this.

Has anyone experienced muscle/bone pain and extreme restlessness from quitting heavy use for a month? I never have had this problem, but I also never smoked more than 1-2 times per day in the past 10 years.

I gave a 1/4 of it to a female friend of mine and she said she didn't experience anything weird - so I don't think its any contamination. She did not smoke quite as much or as frequently as me.

    Thanks for reading.

Yes, but I had them before. My asthma gets worse when I stop smoking pot/using my vape, the doctor always asks if my allergy's are bothering me when my asthma starts acting up after I stop. Shows how much he knows :upsidedow

Good luck with your problems though, you probably didn't notice them when your high. Being sober sucks.

I am pretty new to mj but I would have to say that it sounds like you have been straining those muscles all month and simply not noticing it because you were high. Now that you have come down, reality is rushing in on you.
From what I have gathered the restlesness and anxiety are common in your kind of case.
But I'm only supposing these things

How do you let weed become that important to you? Honestly, I read some peoples view on the drug here and it scares me. Weed shouldn't be the shining light in your life. That's why people call us "underachievers" because from the posts of some people here it seems all they strive for is to get high. which is sad....

there's A LOT more to life than drugs.

Well... im a daily/twice-a-day user, so whenever i have a break longer than 1-2 days i feel very restless... its hard to sleep... it seems there is alot of energy in need to be released... i also feel more pain when sober, which is normal, as weed is used as painkiller... so i think your symptoms are normal... i would suggest you to slow down the weed step by step... like... one day smoke 5 times... the next day smoke only 4 times... the next day smoke only 3 times... so you wont feel so bad.
Or, a better advice... if it were possible, just keep tokin! :rastasmoke:

EDIT: Just did see the above post...

The reason I quit 6 days ago is because it caused me to become very non-productive. I have used/abused all major drugs and marijuana really is no joke - It obviously doesn't have the shortcomings of cocaine/crack opiates/heroin, but it can cause you to become much less productive than opiates or stimulants ever will.

I can work on meth & opiates. Cocaine is probably the only thing that can be much worse than weed when it comes to causing you to lose sight of goals/ambitions. It is possible to be very productive on opates & meth. Look how many people use adderall & narcotics for pain and are still able to function.

    I normally am quite productive.

Well, I do think marijuana is a drug... and i also think alcohol is a drug.... nicotine....caffiene....asprin..... anything "extra" you take to get you through WHATEVER. So i guess my view is biased.....sorry... im looking at the big picture.

well everything can be justified so im not going to sit here and say "you admit to abusing drugs and you wonder why you aren't healthy" cause someone could just come back and say "well, spoken word, people who have never used ANY drugs have health problems". And that's just it, since we(stoners) take so much shit, we are masters at justifying ourselves.

you really need to stop abusing drugs, live "healthy" for a while and then consult a doctor.. because most doctors would tell you, ANY drug abuse is not "healthy".

You realize this guy had physical symptoms and not mental, this means he wasnt craving weed consciously, it was his body telling him that he needs it. Similar to the withdrawal people experience when they quit other drugs.
