Either I'm a REALLY light sleeper, or...
I'm turning into a freakin' ROBOT.
I was awoken at 3:30 am not by a noise or a flood or an alarm or anything, but by a LACK of noise coming from my flower closet- the noise of the returns from my hydro table to the res was down to almost nothing and the ABSENCE of water noise had me up and out of bed.
Fucking Dark Side... As a strict compost grower I sure SLEPT better. WTF.

I'll admit turning my NFT pumps off from 12 midnight untill 6am so I could get sleep. DIdn't seem to do them any harm, but I was told it was a no no recently. So have moved the grow tents into the other room.

We have two fish tanks with two pumps each as well as the cats' water bowl which recirculates the water. You can always hear water flowing in our hut. I don't think I'd wake up if it got quiet though...who knows.

I dragged around a refrigerated trailer most of my trucking days, people would ask me how I could sleep with the reefer's diesel engine running 3 feet from my head ... I'd explain, you wake UP when it shuts OFF, it's like a lullaby when it's running
... especially, when you're sitting on well over $1 million worth of premium ice cream

When I grew hydro, every morning at 5:45 I would half wake up, listen for the click of the pumps turning on, then wait for 8 minutes, then listen expectantly for the sound of water draining out of my ebb and flow table(the absence of that sound meant a possible flood), then I would go back to sleep.

I'm a damn light sleeper. I use ear-plugs otherwise the return tube noises wake me up every hour. I'm talkin those thick ones that you have to compress hardcore to fit in your ear. The reason I like this is because instead of hearing random noises, and pumps/nutes going down the return every hour, the earplugs cause you to hear your own breathing, and nothing else, and that's plenty white noise for me to sleep. That's my insomnia cure! Plus killing a 6 pack and kief bowl before bed. :stoned:
