    Mold in reservoir???

So I JUST started using molasses in my hydro setup a week ago, and I lifted up my res top to find, to my horror, a layer of mold floating on top of the water. Come to think of it, it's not that fuckin surprising to think that this could happen to a 70 gallon cup of sugar water sitting at room temperature. How the hell do people avoid this with carb sources in hydro res's? I didn't use H202, which I guess was dumb... right now I'm draining the res as much as I can (It's impossible to get the last inch of water out with the way it's configured... Then I'm thinking I'm gonna put a shitload of H202 in with the remaining mold water, pump it out, filll it up again... and repeat. Should I nuke the res tank with some bleach, even though I won't be able to drain it all out? Fuck, I could really use some advice here.

I have very limited access as far as reaching into the res because it's under a flood table with not much clearance... and with 24 otherwise perfect girls in week 6 of flower on the flood table I can't really move that either. The pic below shows the res drained out as much as I can, and as you can see their is a ton of gunk (mold) that I can't even really physically scoop out. FUCK FUCK FUCK HELP BUD LUV HELP BUD LUV! LOL.

    Mold in reservoir???

i had some similar problems, 1st you could add peroxide (11.63ml per gallon) i was also told about some porducts to help this, cannazym and hydroguard, but i dont kno there effictiveness because havent gotten em yet (ordered like 2 weeks ago wtf), also would clean the revisor good, use 1 part bleach to 10 water to steralize and rince until you cant smell the bleach anymore

ohh, if you cant move the revisor at all, then the bleach prob ant a good idea because its gunna be a bitch to rince it all out, and if miss some in the revisor, prob wouldnt be good for your plants to suck that shit up

So Jimmy, you had the same thing? Did everything work out alright in terms of the harvest, or are you still dealing with it? I was planning on going to the gro store tomorrow and getting same hydroguard.... shit come to think of my roots do look a little brown too...

Oh and Jimmybones, do you keep the 11.63ml/gal of h202 in there permanently?

    Hey Bud ,
That sucks . Yeah you can tryn get rid of it w/ 3% H2O2 .

Try 10ml. / 2tsp. per gallon and yes run the system as usual / leave it in there perm. it degrades / hydrogen only lasts a cpl. days and it ends up H20 . It evaps. or breaks down / disappears I'm baked n forget the whole story .

Don't ever mix H2O2 w/ hygrozyme or hydrogard though as it'll kill all the benefical organisms in it .

Also search "Sucanat" on here . I posted a good article on here by Ed . It doesn't give amounts or ratios though . I use a tsp./ per gallon disolved and added to res. and have had good luck w/ it . = All natural organic sugar w/o all the goop/build up of molases . Seen it settle in bottom over time but never any mold etc...

    Later Bro.

    Bud ,
Don't add the hydrogard till like 4-5 days after the use of the H2O2 .
Hydrogards good stuff . I use it too now = cheap insurance .

Actually, Weedhound asked her hydro supplier and they said that it was OK to use Hygrozyme and H2O2, but not with Hydroguard. I made that mistake once and ended up with huge slime worms in my bins and res. Nasty stuff. But I have used H2O2 with Hygrozyme by Weedhound's recommendation and it was fine.

thanks for the ongoing help people... Anybody else got any suggestions?

I don't see why more people wouldnt have had this problem, given that my res is a cool temp and I've only had Carbon in it for a week... Does everyone that uses sugar precede it with h202 or hygrozyme or hydroguard? this blows.
