Brain Cells??
Doesent it stop chemicals that make you happy from going to your brain? I dunno but I heard this from a teacher of mine from school and I find it hard to believe...or maybe I dont want to believe it.

Brain Cells??
It's made me a 10000x happier, even when I'm not stoned. My IQ has gone up 17 points since before I smoked, I've been sick a lot less (though I doubt that has anything to do with it), and I concentrate a lot better when I'm stoned.
I suck at math, I'm in Geometry. I am sober and don't understand a word, I get stoned, go in for a test, and at least I get a passing grade.
It's a wonderful thing.

its bs that ganja kills brain cells. i heard somewhere that cannabis unlike alcohol just bends your brain cells and thats when ur high they straighten back out when your back to base. now alcohol destroys every single brain cell it comes across hence the terrible headache when ur hungedover, taking it days even weeks to regain ur lost brain cells

Brain Cells??
Beachguy's right. What cannabis does is assist with a natural cell-pruning process called apoptosis. That's basically the process through which cells kill themselves off when their business is finished. So while the anti-cannabis propagandists like to interpret that negatively to mean "Cannabis kills brain cells," what most research in animal studies and in vitro studies on neurons has shown is that the active compounds in cannabis aid apoptosis in a beneficial way, helping with the natural pruning process and sparing (and even helping proliferate) the cells that aren't pre-programmed for natural destruction.
You can read some abstracts about cannabis and brain function here in this sub-forum. Look for the sticky containing health-related abstracts from Storm Crow. Or you can also do a Google on "cannabis apoptosis" and read what you find there. Just be aware that abstracts are only brief summaries and that the vast majority of the research that's been done has been about the effects of THC compounds on rat or mouse brains.
