The hole works like a switch, when it's covered your draw pulls from the bowl, when it's uncovered the draw pulls from the hole. You have to cover it to hit it, but you remove your finger at the end of the hit while inhaling to clear the pipe's chamber and stem of smoke. just like lifting the slider on a glass bong. Don't inhale too hard, even with the hole uncovered, as you still could pull in ash.

The hole in the bottom's big so I'm worried about sucking in a lot of ash. I bought screens but I've heard bad things about them and about the m tasting like metal lol. Plus the screens don't seem to fit the pipe that well. Anyone have any thoughts? Should I not grind it down to fine or should I definitely use the screen or what? Rating: 5
