Whoah, I've never thought about plant reincarnation / transmigration.
I'd much prefer animal.

what happens when you die?
I've always wanted to be re-incarnated into a turnip. Second choice, a carrot. I dont know why, but damn, that's my future!

what happens when you die?
This is a lengthy thread, so i don't know if my commentary will be unique or not.
Maximum comprehension of science and of the cosmos greatly diminishes apprehension about mortality. When you see the earth as insignificant as a grain of sand on an anthill, a human life seems unfathomably irrelevant.
Of course, even a scientifically-rooted mind is not impervious to the spectrum of emotion native to human existence. We have a mental advantage over animals, but often a seemingly disadvantageous emotional status. The complexities of human emotion can be crippling; it seems like it would be easier if we were more inclined to follow no more than our fight-or-flight instincts.
I for one have no expectations when I die. If I retain any form of consciousness after death, it would be a pleasant surprise. If I had nothing more than the memories I made during mortality, I would have a blissful eternity.
I've vaguely felt that all human consciousness is homogeneous, viz. that at one point all our thoughts and emotions and consciousness was one defined entity, and will at some point be restored to one great whole. Perhaps heightened consciousness is similar to raw matter; eons ago it was a condensed whole, gets dispersed during a prolonged temporal existence, and is ultimately re-condensed to a perfect, refined form.
It reminds me of the literal state of Israel. It was once a centralized group, then was scattered in a diaspora, and according to divinely revealed promises, will be gathered together whole, in a more excellent state because of refinement, persecution, and individual strength (no I don't mean when the U.N. tried to make a nation of Israel after WW2, I mean when the messiah restores them). K i could go off all day. I'm not actively religious, but i believe in much of what religion is based upon

what happens when you die?
Yo, the whole idea of this question is impossible for man to answer. Our brains are wired to comprehend a beginning and an end, but there is the possibility that existence begins, but doesn't end, and there is just the same possibility that it begins and ends. We can't comprehend it either way. Try to imagine living for eternity, then try to imagine non-being. The thought of both are impossible. So whatever ends up happening to us is ultimately a paradox of existence. Since we have defined things such as existence, we expect there to be opposites and such, but really we have created all of these concepts to justify actually being. It's really incredibly paradoxical.

dylan-
are you being serious? if so, im sorry this has happened.
if you are being serious.... i have good news. you can find your brother. look in your mind first.
you should be able to see him if he made it.
lets all recall the anna nicole situation. when her son died, i could see him in my mind.
the point is.... you want to make it to the mind area. i suppose your brother can be found there just like any other individual, and i assume he is blue.
look in your mind. call to him. manifest things in your heart which would be familiar to both him and you.
youll find him.
may i ask..... was he serving in the military? this is common problem, suicide i mean, with military people.

i havent read any other posts here but heres my thoughts...
well its all a cycle of life, we die, rot into the ground, grouw grass, or other plants, so our energy is in the grass.. then a deer comes, a bit of our energy is in the deer, theeen, a human comes caps the deer, eats the deer, and a bit of your energy is in the human then,... thats how the wonderfull cycle works... i heard somewhere that right before u die u see ur life flash between ur eyes, but it feels like a shit load of years..
