The brain is like a machine, or a computer. When you die, it no longer functions, and you're done with. Not a bad thing, really.

When you die your brain releases a chemical DMT, its highly potent hallucinogen. Suposedly this chemical also causes extreme dilation so the last few seconds of your live feel like an eternity.
