    Forum for the Childfree

I've seen some very good forums for the Childfree, i.e. people who have no desire or plans to have children. There are many topics that are relevant to this lifestyle including, but not limited to: Employment, family, neighbors, finance, travel, legislation, relationships and romance.

I think that it could become be one of the board's better, and liveliest, forums.

I don't understand what the childfree lifestyle is all about... except the same as the singles lifestyle? Would this fit naturally into Sexuality and Relationships?

I guess we could make that a subforum in the new section called Vasectomies and Tubal Ligations.

Can I post there even if I have children? I would hate to be excluded cause the condom broke. LOL

There are Childfree people that are from all walks of life, and from backgrounds that include married, single, divorced, looking for a relationship, and not looking.

Well, it would be welcome to non-childfree people, but the participation would have to be respectful toward the choices of the people that the forum is targeted towards. I believe that it would be mostly of interest to the Childfree, though.

This forum would not be intended, for instance, to assist people that are having fertility problems.

This mostly IS a childfree forum already, from what I just looked at. The people who're parents are the much smaller minority, and no one has shown any disrespect for folks who choose not to have children. Breuk, frankly, you've shown far more disdain over the time I've know you toward people who have chosen parenting, and I think respect goes both ways.

I think this is very much like the idea behind Men's Issues, where child-free, like men's discussion topics, is actually already the "default setting" of the board majority.

That's a very subjective response, but not a surprise.

This was only a suggestion, to make the board better.

Fact is, most of the people here are not Childfree, in that they intend to have children. The people that are not, and do not want to become, parents are the ones I am referring to, - and they are still in the minority (but growing).

Uh... In 21st c. Western culture the decision to not breed is hardly one that is going to get you burned as a heretic or otherwise ostracized. Perhaps you won't have so much to chat about at office parties, but something tells me you aren't exactly the chatty office party type to begin with.
I find this entire suggestion ridiculous. And Birdgirl is correct that your disdain for breeders adds a touch of irony to the request.
Since I don't feel like wasting any more brain cells on this, especially before breakfast, CLOSED!!!!
