    Cloning Question

Going to do some cloning soon. Need some opinions. Ive tryed cloning in the 0% success lol. But I read some stuff that attic wrote and one of the things he/she wrote was you need to flush your plants out with water. To deprive them of nitrogine, so they root faster. I just want a second oppinion. And also the times I ve tryed to clone Ive used rockwool, I was begining to think it was the RW and had consdered going to rapid rooter plugs. But If im doing something wrong to not prepare the plant for cloning then obviously need to do that.

    Thanks

    Cloning Question

Some do stop feeding N before cloning, but some don't. I get roots in 11 to 14 days using rooters and don't stop feeding N. I would switch to rooters though, to me they are simpler than RW. I just take mine out of the package, give a quick dunk into a mix of 1 ML per gal of Super Thrive and 3ML per gal of Liquid Karma and stick prepared clones into them. I place them into the humidity dome under a CFL and mist lid every morning and every night and don't even mess with the rooters for about 6 days. After they get their quick dunking they are wet enough not too have to water for that long. I also use a heating matt so that the cloning area stays at about 80D. I tried some different methods and I just had to come back to this one. One last thing, some will feed the plants that are about to be cloned from some bloom nutes a couple days before cutting in order to get a faster rooting time.
    Adieu

    Cloning Question

I also plan on taking my first clones ever soon as well. I am using RW, i have a dome and heat matt, and rootech gel. I also plan on sprinkling in a little bit of granulated mycorrhizal fungi in the water i will be soaking the RW in, to get the subcultures working on roots immediately. I need advice on when i start misting, I plan on misting the dome 1-2 times daily with 1/2 tsp/gal tigerbloom in my water.

Will that mixture be alright for misting my babies? or should i just mix the fert with the soaking water then mist with only Ph'd water??

    Cloning Question

Cloning always seemed like an advanced technique and very mysterious to me until I'd done it a time or two. I went out and bought an aerocloner, read every post I could find, watched grow videos - I thought you had to be a scientist to do it or something.

Fact is, it's simple and anyone can do it. I use plain RO water, sometime with a drop or two of superthrive, a humidity dome, a plain ole 24" fluorescent shop light, Clonex rooting compound, usually rapid rooters (on stinkys advice) but I just used some rockwool with same 100% success. Summer heat seems to be harder on them and they take a little longer to perk back up but they always do eventually. The day after you clone them they often look dead but just keep misting them, they'll come back. I don't use any ferts until roots showing through the rooters, then start with 1/4 or 1/2 strength depending on strain.

Don't give your clones any nutes if this is your first time cloning. Get some Clonex liquid and use it. Do soak your rockwool cubes in clonex (+ a drop of Superthrive if you have it) until you can maintain a pH of 5.5. R/w cubes usually have a high pH, so you need to start with your solution around pH 4.5 to equalize at 5.5. I often have to use pH down during the soaking because it creeps up over 5.5.

Start misting immediately. Mist the dome, not the plants. I mist with Clonex.

Ok i dont have superthrive but i am confident my subcultures will do the trick..

But, if i were to omix nutes in my misting bottle, say some tiger bloom, how long does that mixture staty good???? is there anycertain way i should store the nute mix??
