Insufflation of pills containing acetaminophen is not very effective, since acetaminophen is not water soluble. The ratio of what you want (hydrocodone) to what you don't (acetaminophen, binders, fillers) is about 1:100 or 1 percent, essentially for every milligram of hydrocodone you also get 100mg of shit that is clogging and doing needless harm to your nasal and septum.
All that aside whether snorting is better also depends on the drug. I would take vicodin orally because when I do it I usually take at least 30mg, which is three 10mg tabs or 6 5mg tabs. There was a point when I thought snorting 5mg hydrocodone pills was cool, until I realized it really didn't get me high at all and im sure as hell not going to crush up even three of those pills and try snorting them as it be roughly 1600mg (over a gram) of material, i've always cold water extraction or parachuting to work MUCH better than snorting.
If you're insufflating a substance it is probably for faster onset or to bypass the liver for more intense effects and I assure you with snorting vicodin you get neither, don't get me wrong im sure you'll still get effects but it will probably only be because all that material your nose couldn't absorb drips into your stomach...in which case you might as well have taken the pills orally.

Morphine however is another story since when it is taken orally much of it will be metabolized in the initial pass through the liver, injection or insufflation in this case would be best.

Oxycodone has a higher bioavailability which is why it is prescribed over morphine for pain. Real oxycontin, containing only oxycodone and not in combination with tylenol is more suitable for snorting however since there will be less material clog your nose up while snorting, which means more of the oxycodone can actually get into the bloodstream since it doesn't have hundreds of milligrams of pesky acetaminophen in its way.

If you want to take vicodin in a way to bypass the liver do it rectally.
