A little help please.... :)
Even with a cooltube, you need a space at least 4x4x8, and a powerful exhaust, for a 1000w lamp.

yeah that is what i am thinking. I dont know what i am gonna do because it cannot be returned/exchanged. This is the problem with acting without thinking. Oh well. Do you think it is better to just set up a bigger cabinet?

yeah. You got a walk-in closet or a nice cozy corner of your cellar? You can cover a space 5x5 with that light, and yank down over a pound per harvest if you work it properly. Read up!

A little help please.... :)
I dont want/need that much chron unfortunately. I am just looking to grow enough to keep my going and honestly have quit for the last little while. Funny enough this has become a hobby or growing something more than trying to support the habit (that i loved and cherished) that i for some odd reason gave up recently. I am looking to only have a few plants (3 at most maybe) and would even be interested in growing a mini orange tree or something exotic too just for the fuck of it.
If i keep some fans inside my cabinet blowing on the plants along with the computer fans along the top and cool air vents in the bottom along witha cool tube that exhausts the heat from lamp through ducting, does this sound like enough? Obviously trying it out will be the real test but it is nice to chat with someone who has soe experience as opposed to my experimentation

There's no way you will be able to run the K in a cabinet, and even in a large cabinet/closet, you'll need at minimum a PAIR of duct-booster 6" fans in-line to move the air. You will probably want to cool the lamp on a separate duct circuit, and insulate the ductwork that is exposed inside the cabinet, and then do the cabinet exhaust with another set of fans.
Mediterranean plants such as rosemary grow well in warm, bright grow cabs, and will help hide the odor of your herb.

well stinky you are a heart breaker on here just like you probbaly are in real life. I dont know what i am gonna do cause this sux and it is my own bloody fault and i dont want to raise my electricity bill much more than it is already gonna be so a bunch of extra fans and such will not be my favorite option.
I am even now thinking about scrapping the old cabinet (that i worked my ass off to build and paint) for a new 5x5.

nosaj, I don't mean to be a bitch, but if you read the site user agreement, all posts become property of the site. By deleting them, you're preventing others from learning from this, and I hate to think I and others have wasted a bunch of time writing up a bunch of careful responses only to have them deleted. This is the same reason I don't troubleshoot via email. Ever. This is very much a community enterprise.
Don't worry, the feds don't give a single shit about a dude with a few plants in his house. If you had posted pics showing over 100 plants in the same shot, then you'd have cause for concern, or come on here bragging about a commercial op. But you didn't.
If you have security concerns, look up a service called TOR anonymity online. This is a free service that will re-route packets sent to a website and make them appear to have originated at a node other than yours.
I gotta think about this.
Oh- and save the cabinet for vegging. Toss a few 40w T12 flourescent tubes in there (throw almost no heat) and call it good. The new room will comfortably house a nice collection of garden vegetables.
The electric bill on a K isn't as bad as you would expect. My monthly electric bills in New England run $250 MAX and include:
-3 refrigerators
-1 gigantic TV
-1 deep freezer
-2050 watts of HID lighting
-200 watts of flourescents
-associated ventilation
-3 air conditioners (window)
-washer and dryer
-computer
-2 coffee makers
-one hair dryer
-all lights for 2 apartments inhabited by 3 people total
-electric exhaust for my heating systems
-electric space heater in my bathroom
-my tenants leaving the fucking cellar lights on all the time
You will barely even notice.
