A little help please.... :)
Alright guys ( and girls :stoned: ) I just have a little question about my baby and wanted to see if anyone here could help?
I planted a blue god seed (which i bought from a good quality dealer in vancouver) about 3 weeks ago, It sprouted fine and has begun to grow. It currently though is only 2 inches tall and has sprouted about 4 sets of leaves, one on top of the other. The first set of leaves that sprouted out of the seed have turned yellow and wilted to brown while the rest of the leaves are a healthy green except the set that sprouted directly after the first set (second set :stoned: ) These leaves are also a healthy green except the very tip of them which is just beginning to turn yellow, One of my questions is:
Is this yellowing of the first and beginning of the second set of leaves normal?
next, as i mentioned before this little plant only seems to be about 2 inches tall after 3 weeks and is continuing to grow new sets of leaves but is not growing very much at all height wise and it does not seem to look like a few of the others sets of pics i have seen at about the same stage around this forum
Now i know each strain is different but at what point can i expect this plant to grow much height wise. It seems as if after 3 weeks it still has a long ( 3 months?) way to go until it will be ready to flower. Could it be stunted and still be growing new sets of leaves one on top of the other? At what point will a branch/stem(?) grow and then develop leaves out of it. I guess i also have to mention that i have transplanted this plant from an orignal styrofoam cup (which it sprouted out of) to a larger pot until its roots seemed to out grow that and then again to a 4 gallon pot that will be its final growing place. COuld i of damaged it, it still seems to be growing new sets of leaves
Now to give you the run down on the care of the plant, i seem to be watering it about every 2-3 days as necessary and have not yet added any ferts or nutes to the soil. I am not an experienced grower as you can see but i am also not an experienced grower of anything ever so i dont know as much as i would like yet, but i read these forums and such a tonne and am learning slowly. As for the lighting and such i currently use 4 CFL's day light for veg and germ and will be switching to 4 CFL no-stink warm lights when necessary. The lights equal about 400 watts as of light now and are in a container that is properly vented and seems to not be running too warm or cold. The soil i am using is from home depot and is just normal soil ( i didnt know too much when i bought it, but is mixed generously with perlite and vermiculite. I would say it is 1 part perlite for every 4 parts soil and maybe 1/4 part vermiculite for every 4 parts soil.
here is a similar set up to mine - (thanks bodom you so far are my inspiration)
