    dying clones

so this is my fist time trying to clone from the mother, I took about 10-13 clones and the next day most are starting to just fall over. they r under the humidity domes and stuck in coco cubes. and I placed them in my grow cab with the mther so temps are 72-78 and lighting I have one 26 actual watt cfl. so my questions are should I be using a heat mat still and should I be using a flouro tube. all the clone are getting lighting since its in the grow cab

Are you saying that you are keeping your mother plant under one 26w cfl?

What are coco cubes? I grow in coco, but I've never heard of coco cubes.

It's pretty hard to fuck-up the cloning process so badly that your cuttings fall over the next day, especially with a humidity dome. Usually they will fall over either because they dry up or because they are too heavy. Did you trim the leaves on the cuttings? Did you mist the plants? The dome? Both? None?

It's hard to help in an information vacuum. Post as much info as you can about how you made the clones and how you have handled them since taking the cuttings. Post pics if you can.

yup I did all that trim mist and cover! but I'm about to purchase a heat pad since I'm running 18/6 and I believe the temps drop a little more then I would like to inthe cab. so its common for the leaves to look reaaaaallly droopy? LOL cause thats what most of mine look like. oh and these cubes I hve , have coco compost in them I heard they are little better then rockwool. they come in a tray of like 50 for 15 bucks. thanks for ur input pharman

If you are having temp control problems, put your cuttings under 24 hours of weak blue-spectrum flourescent light in the most stable temp room of your house, well away from any drafts.
If they still droop, mist the inside of the dome more frequently.
And finally, a product like wilt-pruf that is an anti-transpirant does WONDERS.
If your temps are already peaking close to 80, a heat mat may be too much and you could get mold problems. I'm cloning at no more than 68 degrees these days, it's just taking a while. But it can be done. Your issue sounds like water loss.

It's not all that common for the leaves to be reaaaallly droopy. But sometimes they are - and then there is the usual disclaimer that, of course, everything is strain dependent.

Make sure you mist the inside of the dome and not the cuttings! Keep a close eye on the cuttings and immediately cut off any leaf parts that start to rot. If stems are bending, you can prop them up with a bamboo skewer or something similar - I use chopsticks.

To actually answer your original questions, your lights sound fine and your temps should be in the high 70's -mid 80's, so you might want to use the heat pad.

Good luck with your clones!
