Sadly I caught some of it, couldn't sleep. The whole sickening charade made me feel physically ill. All that red carpet & the stupid slut in the pre-award show wearing the dress made from 2.5 million dollars worth of diamonds, I mean come on there's people starving to death probably within a block of that theatre, the sheer immorality of it, the conspicuous flaunting of wealth, the sham of celbrity, the hordes of sad, pathetic slaves to the cult of celebrity screaming at the sight of WOW, FUCK ME, A HUMAN BEING WHO CAN ACT A BIT. The world's gone fucking mad, and the insanity of hollywood & the oscars kinda sums it all up in a nutshell. Who cares which film a bunch of crusty old twats were bribed to give an ugly gold plated statue to, the best films of the year never get nominated, never mind winning. Hollywood isn't about art or creativity, it's about cold, hard cash. The LOTR films deserved to win everything on offer, if only for them being based on a true literary classic & not some piece of shit script written by a panel of marketing executives. Grrrrrr.
