Are weed smokers really peace loving hippies?

I dont think that anyone from the younger generations can truely call themselves hippies. To me a hippie is someone who was there in the 60's, who were there protesting, lived in communities, gave up the whole life that was expected of them, and really changed the way Americans live their lives today.

People in the fallowing generations that do wear tiedye, and try to fallow that hippie generation, just are that, fallowing what they think is "cool". I think that they should go out and being themselves, most just are trying to be something they arent.

What i have noticed since i first started smoking, is that even I was trying to be the mainstream stoner. the one that is portrayed in the media. As i have grown older, i have devoloped my own path, my own style. Most people that know me dont even think that i smoke any more. they only think that im a nice outstanding person. I help out in my community, i am worried about some of the enviromental problems. but am no way a true hippie. may share the same beliefs, may live alot in the same way, but i was born 20 years after that era.

I admire those old stoners that talk about the years of free love, of free life. Maybe when im old, and i have a fw younger people sitting around me, maybe they too will admire my stories as much as i admired the stories from my elders. And maybe too, there will be a media "lable" for our generation that later generations will view as "cool"

Over here in England i'd say that about 50% of smokers are aged 12 to 21, wear burberry caps, tuck their tracky bottoms into their socks, wear fake gold earrings and would steal your shoelaces if they had half the chance. I dont go near them due to the fear of catching Stupid Dickhead's Disease. The only time they hug trees is when they are trying to gnaw the bark off so that they dont have to waste money on toilet paper.

LOL that is true of some of the dumbass urban dealers where I live, but whatever. I think it's human nature to be a greedy, insensitive dumbass, and some people fall victim to this tendency.

"hippies" got a bad rep in the 60's cuz the media usually showed the bad sides of them. its just a sterotype. it was part of the culture though. if i was growing up the 60's, i probably would be considered a "hippy" but that is just a label "society" would give me. now, i do like a lot of things that have to do with "peace" and "love", i have some items that says those things. oh well, lol.

I would say that all people who smoke weed, and only weed, love peace. So they are peace-loving weed smokers. It is the pills, beer, and, other supplements, which take out the love in the people, I mean, hippy.

changing into hippies by some sort, cuz if they are in a headshop full of beads and colored pipes and stuff, theyd prolly be attracted the colors and everything is so much cooler looking when your high, i know thats what happened to me

Rednecks are basicly the opposite of hippies, and there are an endless supply of reefer smoking rednecks in the south these days. These are different times, keep your fingers crossed everyone.
