playing dvd + R's on my ps2

is this possible, i have been burning avi files on(movies) onto dvd + R discs and i know that they don't work on a ps2, but is it possible to change the format of the disc? this might be a stupid question but i don't know anything aboout this stuff

to play burns on ps2 you need to mod it or use a swap magic disk

You can convert the video to mpeg2 and burn it as a video dvd and it will work with out a mod chip.
