    Getting the bowels moving?

These last few days I've been taking extra painkillers because of exceptionally large amounts of pain. Well, it looks like I'm paying the price now. This is the 5th day I have't had a bowel movement, and the scary thing is I don't even have to go! I have been eating plenty so...

I know one guaranteed cure that I've tried a few times is a 1/2 cup of olive oil with a 1/2 cup of organge jiuce (albeit you'll get 4-5 oily shits after the first needed one), but I tried it today and gagged as soon as it hit my mouth; so that option's out.
I ate many appricots and prunes today, then took some senacot, but all that's done is make it so I can feel a bit of intestinal movement now. Nothing has reached the end yet.

I've asked doctors about this before and all they ever say is "eat lots of fiber".

Anything else I could try eating? Also what consequences to my health could come of this?

what type of painkillers are you talking about? Sounds like you have been taking codeine, vicodin or something similar. MiraLAX works very good and it is very mild but works like a son of a bitch ...you mix it in with anything you drink such as juice or whatever and in a couple of hours your good to go..., or you can go with a FLEETS enema for instant relief..either way you gotta get them pipes cleaned out. Good luck

    Figs
    Raisins
    Prunes
    Prune juice
    Apples
Apple juice has that effect on me, too
Colace, a stool softener (docusate sodium)
    Miralax or Senokot or Dulcolax
Or try a shooter of mineral oil or a tablespoon of castor oil

Do not attempt these in combination unless you want big trouble. Choose one and be patient. While you're treating yourself, stop overdoing the painkillers.

    Getting the bowels moving?

Well, I finally went and I've become disturbingly good at self-administering enema's. And no I'm not embarrased about that, I don't believe in any part of the body being taboo. I want to be a doctor one day, but I won't undertake that massive task for a few years when I'm more mentally together. So I can't be squeemish about these things lol.

That's a good list birdgirl, and appricots work too! My mom's a nurse and says they use prunes and appricots in the hospitals for opioid analgesic patients all the time. Think I'll start drinking apple jiuce to see if that works, thanks for the tip.

what type of painkillers are you talking about?
600mg tramadol a day, up from my usual 400 (which I'm back down to). That's on top of 200mg celebrex, 1-1.5 grams acetaminophen, and occasionally I'll throw in 600mg ibeprophen. I don't know of those extra's would contribute, but not that I've heard of.

Thanks for the advice everybody .

I knew Birdgirl was going to say it...but I will say it anyway...Miralax or mineral oil works well..I imagine you are fairly impacted so the enema was probably the best bet at this point.

    Works like a charm:

Before bed- Eat a large bowl of chocolate ice cream.
After bed- Make coffee, smoke cigarette, if needed drink coffee with cigarette.
