Slipknotpsycho...there is a screw or something holding the actual casing to the rod in which your emergency brake is screwed onto undo that screw then you should be able to remove it and put a new better looking one on If you substitute marijuana for tobacco and alcohol, you\'ll add eight to 24 years to your life.

Slipknotpsycho...Yeah its usually pretty simple. Pretty much like replacing your shift knob. So as long as you plan on the changing the astetics on it and not the actual brake.

Slipknotpsycho...I would think that if you have to remove the handbrake handle then you would have to release the tension on the actual cable, this would mean some sort of adjustment at the brake drum end assuming its not calipers at the back, most handbrake cables I have changed split in the middle ie they are not one piece so you might be lucky and not have much slack after fitting new handle, the self adjusters on the brake drum should take up any difference, worst case scenario would be having to manually adjust brake shoes it's more akward than difficult.
I am not really an expert, I am just trying to think back to the days when I could not afford to put my car into garage for repair and had to do all my own maintenece work.

Slipknotpsycho...Adjusting a park brake cable

here, incase you do have to make adjustments on the cables...

i doubt the entire procedure would take 15 minutes (from loosening the handle to lowering the car down to drive)

there's not a whole lot of ways you could mess it up
