First I want to say that I am not a dentist, so what I say should not be followed word by word, but it's my experience and how I think it might relate to your thing.

When I got my wisdom teeth removed they said I should smoke due to dry socket, and other complications due to smoke, and not what you're smoking.

The smoke causes complications on healing areas, and it could cause you to bleed and might have complications in the healing process.

Since I don't know if your dentist said anything about the sucking action (drinking through straws, smoking, and what not) I can't tell you if it's that, but I'm pretty sure the smoke would affect your healing process.

My suggestion is you wait until it's completely healed, I'm pretty sure your dentist gave you an estimate as to when you can smoke. I'd say follow that, even if he meant cigs, as I'm pretty sure he was more concerned about the smoke (not the substance) affecting your healing.

Again, this is my opinion through some experience and reading. My suggestion is you call your dentist and ask, if you're up for that, since you can't get arrested for asking someone if smoking pot will affect it.

Maybe someone with more knowledge on the topic will come and give you some better information, but it'll always be better to just wait until it's healed.

If you want to get some pot in you, you could always make some firecrackers or something. I'm also pretty sure vaporizing wouldn't hurt unless the act of sucking will give you complications.
