I agree with you Missisippi Steve, but there were better Columbian weeds, such as red and gold, which were more expensive, and stronger, than the "commercial" brown type. All of them did go faster than the connoisseur varieties that you (and I) preferred. I kind of wish that some of that good Columbian, or an equivilent domestic type, was still available for everyday use.

How little? For personal use, with today's high quality stuff, I can make a quarter oz last for months. A half gram can last for up to a week by smoking very small amounts in a pipe.

How much? It's hard to quantify, because of the varying strengths and such - but I rarely, if ever, went through a whole ounce of anything in less than a week.
