    seconds from death...

well i was watching seconds from disaster : the crash of the concorde (Concorde - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) and in it, after analyzing everything, they came to the conclusion that the passangers likely knew they were all about to die (it crashed like 2 mins after take off) and it brought a question to my mind....

what would run through your mind in those last few seconds?

would you think of loved ones? or think of tasks you had wanted to do so badly but hadn't had a chance to yet? would you curse yourself for being on that plane, or wonder on all th eevents that could have kept you from the doomed flight? would you pray and/or make your peace with god in an attempt to save your own soul?

honestly, i think i'd be too shocked to do or think of much.... i'd probably think to myself over and over about how it's not possible this could be really happening...

Ever notice the change in people after traumatic events that jeopardize their lives? They reached a level of understanding that is hard to find outside the typical daily life. Whichever thoughts cross the mind leading to death, they must be thoughts of understanding.

Have you ever looked through old family photos of your parents and yourself and abruptly re-understand yourself and who you were and are? It's kind of like that, but probably much more intense.

Wow, that is a powerful question if I say so myself.

My heart would more than likely be beating through my chest, so if I didn't suffer a heart attack before impact, I guess I don't really know. Tough question really...

I would be in shock, most definatly, but I suppose I would think about how it is all going to end. Will it be impact and instant death, or will we crash, burn, and I'll slowly die. The pain I guess I would be most scared about. Will it be slow or long and nasty?

Last thing on my mind would be family. I love my family to death, but I am about to die. I got my own ass to worry about.

Thats a tough question and I dont think anyone here could actually say unless they have been in a position like that well apart from the fact that you would probably feel nauseous and nervous as fuck and your heart beat would be thumping like mad you would probbaly think about all the fucked up things you did in your life and what you regret then obviously think of the ones you truly love and maybe try and write some sort of goodbye note like lots of people have done before

I'd light up a fat joint that I smuggled onto the plane, and take my last hit.

I have no idea what I would do. I would hope it would be a moment of true clarity but it would probably end up with me shitting my pants and crying.

I have no idea what i'd do. Probably sit back and try and relax. Might as well enjoy the ride - better than any rollercoaster. Or i'd loose my temper and attempt to kill the pilot before the plane crash kills me.

lol the way shit was going down at the momment... you woudln' thave been able to get up, or if you did, you'd probably at the very least be knocked out.... it was litearlly flying just fast enough to keep it in the air, not even fast enough for it to climb much higher..... at the last three seconds it loses all momentual thrust equal to being able to keep it off the ground and literally falls otu fo the sky landing on an airport hotel...

btw, you'd of been burned to death..... at it's highest point iw as flying 150 feet in the air, when it crashed it was flying all of 45 or so (i THINK not pisitive, it was VERY low.... the chance impact killed them was extremely minimal....

the reasonw as durring take off, a engine mount from another plane that took off just minutes before concorde, came off... and left on the runway..... shatteringa tire which are over inflated to begin with..... the tire shattered (which was accounted for in saftey) in peices... but one very large chunk (which wasn't made part of the saftey study) slapped the wing, which was where the fuel was stored, creating something of a wave, but a high impact one... it blew out a rubber sealer, part, and the plane began SPEWING (not leaking) fuel, until finally it caught fire and was pretty much as long as the aircraft it's self.... this heat decintegrated teh wing, along with what is to a plane as a rudder is a steering will.... the captain knew they were all dead the minute they left the runway (he struggled to get it up, if he didn't they all died right on the land behind the run way (if he aborted takeoff_ but there was nothing he coudl do about it..... after those dreaded 120 something seconds, he lost it completely and hte plane LITERALLY just fell out of the sky.... not an arch as with a rocket, just straight up plummeted....

even now i can't help but watch the documentary and wonder what must've went through their minds....

I can't imagine what went through the mind of those soldiers who got their heads sawed off by Taliban's on video cam.

There you kneel down, seeing men with guns, one with a huge knife, with their faces covered in red bandana's and clothes. They make a blindfold, tie your hands behind your back, and place it over your eyes. You wait, for something, then you hear men talking, jabbering to the camera...you hear a chant, you get pushed down, held down like a dog, and the cold steel enters your neck...

wow, imagine waiting for that death.
