does lowrider give off a strong smell when growing...what would it be on a scale of 1 to 10....also is lumens going to be a major factor in growing this strain? there is no veg stage so i was wondering if you still need the whole min. 2000 lumens/square foot

The plant from what I have read dose give off a skunk scent, on a scale I would guess a 5-7 on a scale of 10. You do want to keep the plants as cool as possible so that the smell stays down. The more heat you heave the more the plant will give off turpines (smell particles). Also try to keep as much light on them as possible. I have seen guys place the plants under 120 watt CFL and come out with some tasty buds They look fluffy and not very dense which is why you want to use as much power as you can, something like a 400W HPS will do the trick.

A good friend of mine grew a batch of the original Lowryder about four years ago. He grew in a 2x4 area using organics and a drip hydro system, and had a 400w HPS. He used a 18/6 light cycle the entire time. He ended up with 2 squat bushy plants that covered the entire area, and yielded approx 4 oz dried and cured. They grew to about 18". I can't quite remember what they smelled like, but it was an alright producer. Very stoney.

I'd love to see how some of those LR crosses would do.
