Helicopter worrying me!!

I was sat at the computer this morning and heard a helicopter. I knew it was the police helicopter because it often flys around the area, I didn't think anything of it. But this morning it got unusually loud so I looked out of the window and there it was, hovering right above the fucking house, it was so close I could read the writing on the side LOL! my heart nearly jumped out of my chest, I was shaking and everything.
At the moment I only have 14 seedlings growing under 110 watts of fluorescent light, it costs thousands to keep a helicopter in the air even for a short time; so I was wondering:-
- would they really go through all that trouble just to bust someone for growing a couple of plants?
- Would they give themselves away like that by flying right above the house they want to bust?
- Could they have got it wrong and think there is a big grow operation in my house?
- does anyone know what grow lamps look like through an infra-red camera?
- are they easy recognisable?

The helicopter was in the area for about 10 minutes or so. It hovered above my street for about a minute, then flew of for a short time, then it was back again and stayed for a bit before it flew off again; I haven't seen it since, I've heard it a little but not seen it (all this was about half an hour ago by the way).

So what do you think people? should I be worried or do you think it was just some new recruit out on a training day?

I do not think that they would waste all that money on thermal imaging and flying helicopters for a few seedlings under some fluoro's.

You are fine. The copter was probably trying to locate a criminal on the ground or something.

If they were coming for you they would come through the front door with a warrant, not with the helicopter.

helicopetrs are only used in big growing oprations, not something really small like yours so take it easy, i think they were trying to find someone else, maybe taking pictures of one o your neighbors or something like that... The government of any country dosnt expend tons of money in a stupid bust, that in court you can get out of it easyly. They try to nail big fishes, when they use a helicopters and everything.

right now take it easy, and dont act suspicious everytime you see a cop, dont be like "oh shit this cop is watching me because he knows im growing" because you maight rize a suspect....

Thanks guys. I knew it was probably nothing but you can't help feeling paranoid when you've got something in your house that you're not supposed to have. It's just the way the chopper was hovering almost directly above the house, it freaked me out a bit.

lol yeah, if i had a couple of plants growing in my house, i'd prolly freak out too man.you never like when you think cops are after you. I don't think they would use a heli with infra for a coupla plants, pfft i bet even if they did, it woudnt be even worth for heli pilots to jump off a heli with a rope and bust some poor kid. So take it easy .

sorry but id be shittin bricks!! please get rid of them unless you are living in british columbia id really be scared ,its not worth the risk-unless its a neighbor you are not aware of . how well do you know your neighbors good luck!!

nah don't worry about it. but I do see a flaw in some of the reassuring posts. the government has no clue that there is not a big growing operation taking place in the hoiuse. they don't know its but 14 seedlings. be careful, but do not be too paranoid. there are many explanations.

If you only have flouros you don't have to worry about infra-red cams they pick up on heat signatures and your flouros don't put out near enough heat.
So unless you're growing outside the heli is nothing to worry about.
However, you might want to reconsider, if you're paranoid now wait until they're a couple of meters tall! (just kidding)

LOL choppers make me laugh, he right u know the choper aint gonna pick up on a Floro bulb nor even 1 400watt light, if u have 4-6 lights at 600 watts then id worry.
(god help you when u think ppl can smell ur plants) LOL
