    General Hydroponics Power grower Eco?

I just bought this set-up for my first time growing experience,i got the power grow eco from gh. i wanted to start off small, and learn what im doing with just one plant or so. i also purchased the Sun Blaze 44 T-5 high output fluorescent light, with the 2 veg bulbs and 2 flowering bulbs. i bought some nutes but i dont think they are the right kind, fox farm grow big 3-2-6 and i also have what came with the the power grow, they are, GH flora bloom, flora micro, flora gro. Will these nutes do the job or will i need to purchase anything else, can anyone also tell me what else i will need. i know a ph tester, but what else. and has anyone ever used the power gro eco set up, does it work well? how do you add the nutes, do you lift the plant up and out and change the res and just add the nutes then. Thank you

use the GH nutes that came with your unit ... just go by the ratios on the label, especially the first grow ... you need a lot more light to keep up with the hydro, I'm running a 400-watter that cant keep up with the growth ... you really will need a pH tester, and a TDS meter ... that'll get ya started.....read on

'total dissolved solids' usually in ppm, etc... I got my testers here eBay Store - eSeasonGear: Milwaukee Meters, HANNA Instruments, Meter- Controllers
very good prices, and FAST shipping ... I think i have about $50 or less, invested for both my TDS pen, and pH pen ... you can start with your present lights, but I expect you will be wanting more very soon ... I would use the fluoros for vegging, and get yourself a HPS for flowering ... when thsoe plants get 'bushy', a fluoro just doesn't 'penetrate', that's where ya need the big guns ... now, go read :smokin:

LOL That ain't how it works. You need a specific calibration solution for your tester. The TDS meter measures how much stuff is in your water/solution - everybody's water is different.

i know but how much stuff is supposed to be in the water, what is too high or low, what is just right, and what total desolved solids is it picking up, what affects the tds in your water

LOL - I read your post wrong. I thought you meant what will the water test if the meter is good.

RO water should test close to 0 ppm.
