You could visit the Resturant at the end of the universe, where you could watch it happen in absolute safety.
I would not put too much emphasis on the Mayans after all they allowed themselves to be wiped out, as for Nostradamus, well the words con man spring to mind.
If the world is going to end then I think it would be quite good to find out how it happened, especially if it was caused by all the gas guzzeling four wheel drive vehicles like the Greenies are always spouting on about.
