I agree. It SHOULD be the same way in Cananda but if it's a doctor your mom knows don't count on him respecting that rule. He can tell her yes without TELLING her yes. Be prepared to deal with it.
Also, I wanted to add it's very likely that your mom never ordered any drug test and is just trying to make you fret to see your reaction.
