At what point are you a burnout?

There is nothing that I love more than to come home from a long day of work and smoke a bowl. I have been doing this every day for about the last week now. The way I see it, what is the difference if I want to come home and smoke a bowl or come home and have a beer? To me there is none. even though its a daily thing with me, it doesn't seem to be that bad. I have a great job, I don't over sleep or any other shit. I have an active social life. I drive a nice car and live in a nice neighborhood. Why can't I come home and smoke a bowl and relax after a day at work?

At what point would you say that someone becomes a burnout (or whatever a pothead equivalent is to an alcoholic)? I ask this because I am starting to get shit from this girl I'm hooking up with and I don't really see it as a big deal. What do you guys think?

If your living your life as you would if you didn't smoke then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

The only reason you're thinking that is because of the media. Other than the odd stoner movie, NO ONE SMOKES POT in the media. Instead the media tells us that the NORM is drinking. Think about every movie you've ever watched. Instead the media tells you to drink alcohol, get stupider and comfrom to society.

Pot becomes a problem when its your life. I think a burnout is someone who instead of getting a life just smokes pot all the time. So basically they have potential to have a better job, better living conditions, better life but instead just toke up all the time.

I think a pothead is closer to the equivalent to an alcoholic. A pothead being someone who is high all the time. At School, work etc.

    In my opinion

At what point are you a burnout?

At the point where you accept the negative stereotypes and stigmatization.

checklist of not being a burnout:

    1. You go to work/school everyday you are supposed to, on time, and perform well
    2. You use only extra spending money on erb, not money for rent, food, bills, etc.
    3. You can talk about topics other than erb.
    4. You have at least 1 hobby that is not smoking erb. growing counts because it requires patience, intelligence, and effort.

Being burned out is like being beautiful...it's all in the eye of the beholder and relative to opinion.

You are only a burnout when marijuana becomes more important in your life than basic necessities, such as a good education, interesting and high paying job, or whatever dreams you have. So basically there is only a problem if the drug is keeping you from doing more important things in your life. However, unlike Alcohol, I believe marijuana doesn't harm most people's dreams if consumed moderately. I wouldn't worry as long as you are happy and are not letting it stop you from things you really want to do in life.
