Best stable outdoor strain or IBL?
Well I am new here so I didn't know where to post this.
I am not, however, new to cannabis, stuck my toe into and out of the world of growing several times, but I guess I am still a novice.
The question is, what are some good strains to grow outdoors that I can create my own stable seed of? IBL or stabilized strain is I guess what you would call it. Of course it would be nice to have something that yields like crazy, 1-2 puffs for a permastone for hours, and a whole host of other things. But I guess the most important things are the potency of the stone, a strain that can breed true (or whatever you call it) when you make your own seeds, and does well outdoors in fairly northern latitudes (not Nunavut of course, not even Maine, but still what you would call NE US). It would need to mature fully by the first week of October, although earlier is better, and I would prefer something that can also be done indoors initially to make more seeds for outdoor use. And oh yeah, it must be somewhat bonehead proof (something vigorous and resistant to beginner's mistakes). And the seeds must be something I can obtain for less than a fortune as I am not on the list of the Rich and Famous. THANKS!

I would say either Big Bud or Early Misty. They are both affordable for seeds and good reliable, easy strains and flowering for Bug Bud is 9 weeks and Early Misty is 8 weeks, so they should be done in plenty of time!

thanks! Those do sound like great strains to grow, but are they stable strains I can makes seeds of? Damn I can't really make up my mind whether I want a stable strain to make seeds so I have plenty to grow outside for years, or if I just want to grow something cheap, a "throwaway" strain as far as breeding or seed-making is concerned, in that it would need to just be grown once or cloned because it is not stable enough to make seeds.
I guess list both, but please tell me whether it is stable or not. I still am leaning towards making seeds inside over the winter so I have plenty of seeds for outdoor growing later. But I could also just make the seeds outdoors I suppose, if it is a strain that can't be done inside. Besides the seeding potential, the most important thing is that it finishes in time, followed by above average potency and not overly finicky to grow. thanks for the prompt response 420 Hydro Girl!

I would say make seeds AND clones. Then you have options. I would lean towards Early Misty but Big Bud is better for quantity.

Local hippieweed strains are some of the more solid outdoor genetics if you cna get hands on them- finding a strain that has been bred by local growers for cultivation in your area is PrICELESS. There's a bunch around NE; keep your ear to the ground.
I'll add to the list that Donkey Dick and Island Sweet Skunk are also classic outdoor strains that can be purchased in seed form. If you live where I think you live, check out Skunk#1, which has its roots in southern VT.

Hey do I know you?

yeah I don't have much in the way of "connections" lately and am not in any "inner circle", but I would like to obtain local strains proven for the area like you mention. Have to make some new friends I guess! peace

Got another one, Critical Mass from Mr. Nice seeds- it's the classic Mass Super Skunk stabilized in seed form from what I gather.
And yeah FunkycDog, Federation markets it as Sweet Island Skunk rather than ISS.
