Hi there. I have to say, Cfls put out alot more heat than I thought they would.... im having a difficult time staying below 84 degrees. Im running alot of them, 20- 27w...14 bright, 6 cool...spaced approx. 6" apart and they can be adjusted to concentrated areas. That 85 is taken right at the canopy level..or the tops of the leaves...an avg of 2" away from the bulbs themselves. The air temp in the closet is about 74. I have a few fans running, and a small humidifier. If I move the lights another 1.5" away..it cools down to 78....which brings me too my question. With as many Cfl watts that im running, can I do this and still be effective?...or is this just the way it is in cfl land.... point blank and scorch leaf... part of me thinks that its not a big deal..put my hand up to 1" from the bulb feel very little heat...maybe I'm a little to concerned, after the plants grow more and the lights are raised, there will be more air circulation. geez.i shouldn't post when im high..anyway.... any thoughts?..hehe:stoned:
