A couple of question before I begin....

Hey, whats up space cadets... I am just about to start my first baking experience and I just had a few questions.

This is my plan - I have 1/8 of the primo dank and the recipe ask for one stick of butter so I have that as well. I plan to boil in water
for about 30-45 min as instructed by youtube, strain, then cool.

These are my questions and any help would be great.

1st - Is 1/8 of some really good shit per 1 stick of butter enough?

2nd - I have heard a lot of variations on cooking times and temps, everything from 22-24 hours at very low temp to 30-45 minutes at high boil. What is the best?

3rd - Is it better to use water or just butter when extracting the THC. As I understand it you have to heat at low temp using just butter so as not to burn butter/buds.

So, any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks and smoke(or eat) on....

hi archnomad.
I cooked my first cannabutter yesterday. so this is what i did:

1/8 ground good
2/3 250g stick of butter
some water in a pan.

bring the water to boil, chuck in butter and melt. turn the heat down to low!
add weed, stir, cover and keep checking every few minutes. having a blaze during this bit is good, coz you get extra high from the shit in the pan cooking!
do not hard boil the mixture, just let it simmer and it'll start to seperate.
i left mine on for an hour just to make sure.

when its all dark and oily on top, run through a siv with a cheesecloth (or teatowel) into a container. ring out the cloth and squeeze real hard (gotta get that goodness!!)
cover container, bang in the fridge for a few hours. DONE!

i recommend
Mash's "BAKED" potatoes!!!
just use cannabutter!! lovely.

Well... 1/8 = 3.5g... if you eat all the butter containing all this 1/8, you surely will be sent to the outer dimensions of the space-time and will reach the highest level of highness... :abduct:
Ive heard that 0.2 or 0.3g of weed is enough for a great high... so, you only need to eat about 1/10th of the "weeded" butter...
Or, in other words... this 1 stick of butter with 1/8 of weed is enough for 10 highs. (And if the bud is good, it means HIGHHHHS :stoned

Well... i think there is not a consensus yet... but i think the differences wont be SO great... you will be HIGH anyway...

The water is used to prevent the butter going hotter than 100C (212F). If you heat the butter without water, there is the possibility of it go hotter than 100C... this temperature has nothing magical about this, as the THC only evaporates at about 180C... so, keeping the butter not-so-hot is only a safety measure.
