are you sure its a mold and not dead plant material building up on your roots, or something else reacting in your res.? There is a product, i think its called, hydrozyne, this product doesnt have any 'living' things in it, where there is another product, and i cant think of the name right now, that has a 'living' product in it, but the problem is that by the time it leaves the manufacturer and gets the the store shelves its at about 50% and then by the time it gets to your house its almost completely dead, but the hydrozyne is the product you want. This product was found on accident and what it does is allows the plant to use the dead material that comes off the roots as nutes... maybe Rhizo will have more info on this than me.... Its a great product and i think all hydro's should have some on thier shelves at home...
If its mold on the hydroton, i'll be honest, i have not freakin clue other than maybe rinse some more hydroton and transplant into some fresh, but like i said, that is only a guess.

This belongs in plant problems.
What does it look like? It is white and crusty on the hydroton? Is it brown and slimy on the roots? What is the ambient humidity in your grow area? Description would help.
Cannazyme is the enzyme product that helps break down dead cells into their basic components and allow re-uptake as nutes by the plant. Use it CAREFULLY, since the break down process will release a bunch of stuff into your res. I've killed a mother with the stuff; she ended up dying of a SERIOUS and sudden nute overdose... so when in doubt, flush!!!
I'd do a hefty rinse and a res change, run with peroxide and cannazyme for a day, and then change the res again back to your normal nute solution.
I've never dealt with a serious slime buildup though so take my advice as a hunch more than experience.
I find that my brown res slime/sludge just gets stuck on the pump filter so I rinse that off weekly and remove any other solids from the res with a small strainer.

the humidity is 31% and 1 of my plants died (unrelated) and i took the plant out and left the hole open for like 2 days but didnt think that would cause mold in 2 days

hello mate sorry to hear that, if its brown stuff on your roots its a water based virus called (pyphium)it kills your roots and stops the roots from taking up any nutes,you can treat it with pyphium powder you just add to your res.i just harveted my crop i thought it was a small yeild due to the cold but infact i had pyphium.
goodluck.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
