I ask this because I have 3 lights with 2 closets - 400w hps, 250w mh and enough cfl's to light-up a small village!!
This is good if you have some badass ventilation or you can keep the door open all day. A 400w and a 250w would give you about 81 watts per Sq.Ft. Which 81 watts per square foot of full spectrum lighing would be badass... but difficult to keep at a consistent temp. I would just use the HPS (400/8=50 watts per sq) with a few cool blue CFLs.
Earthy Dank Reviewed by Earthy Dank on . 400w Metal Halide for first month of flowering? Okay, right now i have a 600w HPS which covers a 3 x 3 area. I figure i can fit 6 comfortably. I was wondering... could i double what im doing by getting a 400w metal halide for the first 4 months of flowering then switch to the 600w hps for the the main budding phase. Someone was telling me that plants grow denser with sturdier stems under MH light, and since the first 3 -4 weeks is stretching could MH light help control stretch? Could a 400w MH keep up with 6 medium sized plants for a month Rating: 5
