Can't you just raise the clones closer to the light? I use coffee cans, bricks or crates to set the short plants on...whatever fits the space.

The mother is probably about 18-24" tal and I'm not sure how wide. I can't raise the clones because they are in the same Hydro bin as the mother.

As far as the feedings, I don't get that technical with it. I just feed it whatever I am feeding the small plants on the same schedule. I figure its not bad for it to be underfed, and its already huge as it is.

I'll get a picture up later tonight so you can all get a better idea of my situation. Plus, I've been wanting to show off my veg side of the grow room anyways.

DJ - The way you have this set up right now, that mother is going to be a perpetual PITA until you get it separated from your smaller plants ... and you will be forced to make compromises that won't necessarily be in the best interests of your vegging plants.

So here's a suggestion for you. Take a few of your biggest, tightest tops and clone them. When they get roots, put them in some 18 oz. cups with coco or soil. a few weeks later, pick the one plant that is doing the best and plant it in either coco or soil; toss the others. Grow your new mother plant as best you can in the space that you have available. After a month or two, determine if the new mother is growing in a manner sufficient to meet your needs - if you think you'll be happy with her as a mother. If so, then flower or trash your old mother. This wouldn't take much effort, wouldn't leave you without a mother at any time, and I think you and your vegging plants will be a lot happier with the mother separated.

Time to turn your mother into a stand-alone DWC 5 gallon bucket project... SOME members here will be delighted to give ya some construction tips...

I would love to put her in her own 5 gallon bucket with her own lights, but space is the issue. My total grow room is roughly 5x10. The flowering area is like 5x6 and my veg is only 5x3 or so. I have shelving in the flowering area to hold all my shit and a fan oscillating on the opposite side from the shelves so I really have no spare room anywhere in there. I even have to move the fan to get down in there to check the res and what not. I also don't have an unused closet anywhere else in my house, so I have to keep it where it is. Obviously this is less than ideal, but it is what it is.

There's always next to the toilet... you know, where most people keep their bowl-brush but COOL people stick their mother plant?
With a nice MH so you can REALLY read the newspaper when you're droppin' one?
And leave it on 24 hours a day, because no one likes to pee in the dark!!!!

Well, the cord to my laptop charger was somehow severed, so the battery is dead and I am posting via my phone. I was checking out my mother last night and noticed there are female preflowers growing from about 60% of the nodes, mostly the higher ones. She is under 24 hr light, so why would there be pisitils popping out? The strain is Master Kush and tomorrow is the 10 week mark.
