Cannabis as an addiction treatment

I was just wondering if cannabis would make a good addiction treatment drug.

Simmilar to how they use valium to help with the withdrawl symtoms of alcholics. I would think that cannabis may be a usefull treatment for other drug addicts. After all it would help with nausia, head and bodyaches, and would probably help to get their mind off of their drug of choice. Then they could be weaned from the cannabis without any physical addiction and few adverse sideffects.

I have heard that the best way to stop an addiction is to replace it with something else. Preferably something better for you.

Hell yeah man ganja is definitely MY anti-drug.
I believe that bud has helped me kick my cigarette addiction.
It's a hell of alot easier to turn down a cig when i know i can just smoke a bowl.
It'll relieve stress, calm me, and it's a shitload healthier than cigarettes.
