I'm very behind on holiday doings. This has been hell week at school with tests and assignments. But now I'm finished for the holiday break!

Tomorrow I start baking and candy-making. I'll shop in the evenings when stores are less crowded. I even took on a freelance speechwriting job to earn some money so I can get my husband a present without him being tipped off by the expenditure.

I usually give baked stuff and homemade candy to neighbors, a couple of my best doctors, and people like the housekeepers and my hairdresser. So I have about 8 containers to fill up.

I'm doing Neiman-Marcus cookies (which are basically chocolate chip with partial oatmeal flour), raspberry-oatmeal bars, and peanut butter cookies. Then the candy will be walnut fudge and toffee. I'll have to cook for a couple of days, but I should have it all done by Monday. My son's coming home tomorrow, which means I'll have to hide a good portion of the stuff in my neighbor's garage fridge to prevent it from being scarfed down at home. That boy can eat sugar like it's going out of style (so can his dad).

Reb, you making any goodies? Anyone else?

Im not a good cook or anything but I am managing to make some sugar cookies and some fudge.

My mother is the one who can bake and such like crazy! When I visit home once a week she always has goodies for me. It's like the pillsbury dough boy exploded in that house haha.
