Possible but NOT a good idea.
HPS is reddish light and your seedlings will stretch horribly, and the M/F ratio can be negatively affected. Plus they run warm.
Use flourescents for the early stages. If you have a metal halide, put them under that after the first transplant when they are well-rooted enough to take the intensity and heat of a HID.
