well using 24/0 is alright but if you want roots to set up properly you will need to give the crops a chance to photosynthesize. they can only photosynthesize in complete darkness. using 18/6 will give your crops a very healthy roots system:rastasmoke:

18-6 or 24-0 light cycle?
I am not an expert by any means, but I start 'em at 18/6 till they are ready for flowering room. Some folks start the seedlings at 24/0 for a few weeks, then switch to 18/6 but I'm of the opinion that everyone needs a nap at least once a day, lol. Works great for what and why I grow. (personal meds)
Half the closet is seedlings, other half is juveniles. This way, I don't have to worry about switching timers back and forth. (seperate flower room)

I've seen some major piss-fests break out over this subject...beware.
I like 20/4...use to be a 24/0 man.
But, I think Bob Bong said it best: growers choice, pick what best suits your needs as a grower.

18-6 or 24-0 light cycle?
i like 24/0, but for safety sakes i run at 20/4 so that the lights can cool down between 20 hour on periods.
18/6 is argued as more "natural" as it closer follows the sun's cycles.

18-6 or 24-0 light cycle?
Only dif. I've ever noticed was in my electric bill .
I normally use 18/6 - 20/4 so ballasts -n- blowers get a break -n- equipment lasts longer .
