First Time Grow - need addvice.

I have been creeping this site for awhile now basically just trying to obtain all the knowledge i can so i guess i should actually post something now lol.
    What do you think?

    Small space 2' by 2'
    CFLs 6 100w(46w) daylight, 2 warm 100w
plants are 5-8 inch tall, looking pretty bushy id say for that short.
    4-5weeks 24hour light cycle

basically wondering if i should be getting some height on them since they are quite short and dense or am i doing alright? I Will answer all the questions needed to get some helpful advice, so ask away.

Here is some pics if i did it right.

First off, let me say..."welcome, fellow newbie"

Are these sativa's or a sat mix? Looking ok to me.
Personally, I'd cut back to 18/6 lighting.
What, with tying 'em back they will bush-up more, but when you put them under 12/12 lighting, sativa's generally stretch 3-4 times their height. (1 foot tall going into flower, 3-4 feet tall when done, depending on strain, size of pot, type of lighting for flowering...)
Speaking of which, are you planning on using same lights for flowering?

Man, those are bushy little monsters, aren't they! They pretty much look like they are enjoying life. If you know what strain they are, someone on CanCom has probably grown them and can tell you what their growing characteristics are.

Welcome to CanCom and good luck with your grow!

*chuckle* Yes, short and bushy is more then doing all-right. It's doing exceptionally well!
    Long and skinny is bad.

The color is great too. All good signs. May the rest of your grow go as well as the start!

thanks all for the feed back

not quite sure of the strain just some bagseed of some good smoke i had, i was thinking of going to 18/6 for awhile to ease them into the 12/12 hour cycle during flowering and ill be using 8 6500k warm cfls instead of the daylights or maybe a mixture of the two i dunno yet really.

Sorry that this is off topic, but you said your plants come from bag seed? what were the steps you took to get them to grow? and if I understand correctly you can't determine if they are male or female until they start to flower?
Everything I say in this forum is fiction except for this it self. Any pictures I post I have taken from other sources. I in no way condone the cultivation or use of marijuana, for recreational or medical purposes.

Depends on if you can afford more/bigger lights or not. Google 1000lights and check out their site and see what kind of bulbs you can afford. BTW - when discussing cfl's, always refer to their real watts, equivalent watts don't mean diddly squat. But check out their site; they have some real good prices on cfl's from 50w - 100w.

Once you determine how much light you can afford, then you can better determine when to flower.

I recently started flowering(4days) one of my plants that has shown me signs of a female preflower, I am not sure of the strain since it was just a bag seed.

What I'm wondering is why she is not getting much height to her, I measured the plant and it is only about 7-8 inches tall but she is very plump for being such a shorty though this is only my first grow. She is about 11-12 inches away from the bulbs.

I am growing in a rubbermaid grow box with 10 26w warm spectrum CFL bulbs. The temps in the grow box are stable around 72-80f.

Here are some pictures i just took of her. I will be referring to her as Roxanne

    any questions please ask
