250watt MH or 400????

I need somebody's opinion on whether I need to purchase a 250watt MH lamp or a 400. I've been told that you should have a 250watt in a 2.5 ft by 2.5 ft area with 6 or less plants. However, I'm growing in a closet thats 2.5 by 6ft and I'm planning on growing 8-10 plants. What do you all think?? :rastasmoke:

You want approximately 50 watts/sq.ft. and you have 15 sq.ft., so 750 watts if you use the entire area. That would mean 2 - 400 watt lights. The lights all have a certain effective "footprint" - the optimum size area you can light with any given lamp & reflector. Dealers exaggerate the effective footprint of their lights/reflectors by up to 50%, so you can't really believe their propaganda.
