    Germination?

I think 3-4 days is average, but I wouldn't toss them out for at least 14 days.

Are the seeds a darker color or more light? When you squeezed them did they feel hard or a bit brittle? There is always the off chance that you ended up with some inviable seeds... but don't give up hope yet.

Not really a stupid idea. Many people germinate strait in the median, thats how mother nature does it. Just some think that the techniques used give a better germ rate, thats easier to maintain, then just throwing it in the dirt.

    Germination?

I start mine out on top of rockwool under my light w/my other plants, when I use the paper-towel method it just seems as if it takes more than 7 days

    Germination?

boiled water isnt really distilled water. distilled water is the steam collected from boiled water. no biggie though i guess except that boiling would sanitize it but it would still have all the minerals and thiings in it that it started out with. yes water your seed well but not so that it is sopping wet and cause it to rot.

    Germination?

The Fact that you said the seed was black makes me wonder if its a viable seed, or one that was crushed in the packing process.

I Find a good way to start a seed is on a slow weekend. On Thursday put some water in a coffee mug, put your seeds in there, and try to manipulate them so that they arent really touching, though it does not matter much. Put the coffee mug on the stove were your pilot light is located, remember to take it off before any cooking or baking.

The seeds typically pop in a day or so, though taking 3 days is not unheard of. If your seed has not shown any root in 3 days, either change the water so it does not become stale, or get more seed.

Another thing. I have a current vegging project that we started a few weeks back. I started them all in those tiny one ounce cups that you would get a jello shot in. about 40 or so seeds straight in soil, good germ rate. I would only suggest that you avoid letting your soil DRY, but don't keep it soaking.

Don't wait too long though, although some seeds take a long time to finally pop, waiting that 3 weeks is time you could have spent growing an more eager or genetically advantaged plant.

just keep the surface moist w/spray bottle and do not water it fully until after the seed starts growing into a plant, just keep the surface moist w/spray bottle

Yeah umm I went to a store and bought the seeds straight up. so i donno why they would be crushed it's still looked poofed out and everything meaning it's the shape of the rest but it's like black and the rest are a kinda brownish green.
