Hello,
I think that a 250 would work o.k., but flouros would be a bit better for the tender seedlings.
I think that you are running into sprouting problems because you are planting the seeds so deep. I plant a seed around 1/4 inch deep, and the soil that is directly on top of the seed is very lightly sprinkled on top.
Hope this helps.
Peace

make sure your seeds stay moist all the time but not waterlogged. And keep the temps to about 80 degrees. Make sure your seeds are not to deep. The only reason for putting them under the soil is darkness and moisture retention. So plant them just shallow enough to make sure their in darkness. Keep moist

Whos Greg? it isnt me. Think about the difference in electric cost when using flo's. considering the plants dont need alot if the light is close enough.
