what is the kind of light is this?
I have the ballest for this kind of light but I can't rember what kind of light it is.
I wanted to look it up on the internet to see about how much they would cost me. and maybe goto homedepot and buy one. but I don't know what kind of light they call it.
I had onefor 3 years. it worked great but then after 3 years of useing it. it burnt out on me.
and now I wanted to get a new one. cuz I could save more room in my flowering cab.

I don't know what you call them either, but Lowe's has bulbs very similar to yours - in the electrical section, near the 2' flouro tubes. They are also 65w, no ballast, mogul base - but the bulb is fatter and not quite as long.

Hydro it looks like a 65 watt bulb from a light I saw at Home Depot made by Lights of America. Sorry if Im not too specific but are you referring to the bulb itself as in brand, type, Kelvin? If so its considered a compact flourescent, its just bigger (and brighter) than the compacts you see at walmart or other places. Not trying to insult your intelligence here if I am giving basics, its just I dont quite understand your question completely. Can you be a little more specific with what exactly you want to know?...:thumbsup:Heres a link to one I found that looks like yours. 150 Watt Compact Fluorscent

The pic on the right is called an envirolight or a form there of, and has a ballast built into the bulb. The pic on the left has the ballast built into the reflector and has a bulb that does not have a ballast. This is the light from home depot. Do not buy an envirolight as it will not work unless your hood does not have a ballast.
You need the bulb that matches that ballast so if the ballast is 65 then get that one.

those bulbs have built-in ballast. (its why the base is so freaking huge)
