    How rough are Tool concerts?

I'm happy to say that Tool is coming to my town in a week! I've never seen them before, so I plan on grabbing a ticket ASAP.

Thing is, the only seats left available really suck. My only other option is to get a floor seat, but with my spine problem I'm going to have to take a whole lot of painkillers just to manage standing for the concert. I'll only manage this, though, if there aren't crowds of fans bashing me right left and center. If that happens I'm screwed, and will possibly have to be taken out on a stretcher.

So I don't know, are the concerts chilled, civilized, or outright aggressive?

Oh! Your sooo lucky! I seen them this year, and since I LOVE Maynard (sig, cough) it was fantastic!

The whole seen is pretty chill, or at least it was where I was at. Everyone was just smoking and singing. I didn't even a see a mosh pit. Most of the people there weren't even kids. Hell, the couple who sat beside me were in their mid 40's (they shared binnoculars with me, good people).

Well, I was afraid I wouldn't get a ticket since they're already supposed to be sold out, so I bought the seat tickets up in the "bowl" of the stadium. It's not terrible I guess, just kinda to the side. It's my first Tool concert though so I'm sure it'll be a magical experience... with the help of some magical substances .

Hey Reb, so I'm not disappointed if they don't, did they play "10,000 Days (Wings pt.2)" at your concert? If so did they have the rain sound effects? If they do I swear my soul will have an orgasm!

You bet they did! Man, the whole fucking thing was out of this world. It was better than sex. Amazing!

And the stage! My god man! Its ALL white, like the crew even wears socks while walking across it. And it has a little step on the back thats also white. And the whole show they broadcast all sorts of trippy album art and stuff so that it shows up on the stage. The most trippiest thing ever!

OHHHHHHHHHHH my freaking God I'm excited now!!! Thankyou Reb, I can't wait till the 29th! I'll let you know how it went . Dare I suggest that a concert experience will outdo Iron Maiden? I think so!

And it was the best concert ive ever seen, and thats not b/c im obsessed with TOOL. Godsmack was a good one too this year.

Between Maynard and Sully....I was besides myself at both concerts. Thank god John was there or I would have went for it haha.

So, I just saw it last night (and my hearing is still a bit damaged). They didnt' play 10,000 Days (wings pt2), a little disappointing . But that's ok because it was still a kick-ass show; they played Vicarious, Jambi, Rosetta Stoned, Lateralus, and Wings for Marie so it was great overal!
A bit depressing that I couldn't find any weed and everybody else in the stadium was lighting up. I asked around to buy a joint off someone, but nobody wanted to sell.
Their lazer/light show was incredible! During Wings they made this lazer grid over the whole crowd that covered us like a web; that was damn cool . Also for some reason Maynard held up two white pannels that said "94", so I don't know what that was all about:wtf:.
Hahaha, I loved how he was all "I love you" and "I want you to all love each other after the show" and such. Sent some feel-good vibes all around I think:jointsmile:.

Man but I couldn't believe what a Nazi the one security guard was in my line! He searched everybody from top to bottom, barked orders like we were in prison, made us empty anything and everything in our pockets. The guy right in front of me had a weed pipe and he made him throw it to the curb to get in! They even sent ticket holders an e-mail that if we had cell-phones they would confiscate them and not give them back.

But anywhoo, INCREDIBLE show! I've seen many many bands in my time, and this tops all but Iron Maiden. LOL, sorry Rebgirl but Iron Maiden is still the greatest show of my life .

same with any gig. its where you stand. the futher to the front you are the more cushed you get and the pits tend to kick off more to the middle at the front. smaller ones tend to get dotted around but they never really last that long.

i have been to more gigs than i can remember, last count was bout 100 and without a doubt the heaviest have been raging speed horn and some local hardcore/metalcore bands.

    bigger gigs are alrighte.

have fun. looks and sounds like it will be blast
