Anyone Else Have Their X-Mas Tree and Lights Up Already?
My lights go up when i finally get round to getting a tree and finding all the decorations, which is usually about a week before christmas.

Xmas trees are meant to go up 10 days before xmas and come down 10 days after, don't know why but my wife allways abide to that, if it was down to me i'd leave them up all year round, i have only seen one house this year so far with decorations up.

We got the boxes out today and will put stuff up tomorrow. I don't like to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving's over, either. Tomorrow we'll get the trees decorated and string the lights and bows on the banister, put the wreath out. We have never done elaborate outdoor house lights in this neighborhood, but this year we have a big lighted wreath that'll go up on the second story in a prominent position.
Does anyone else find taking it all down after the holiday's over a depressing task? I do.\"That best portion of a good man\'s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.\"

Taking down the decorations is the final nail in the coffin for me, it says the holiday is over and we have to wait another year.

I always decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Last year I broke down and got a 3-foot fake tree because:
-Putting up a real one by yourself sucks
-Wrestling a real tree up 2 flights of stairs alone sucks
-I have to keep my tree up on a sideboard because my dog gets so wild and runs around the living room crazily
-I always for get to water trees
So that, and the other couple fake trees that I 'plant' in my flower beds are coming out of the cellar this weekend, and the 50 feet or so of lighted garland (if it still works and I can untangle it) is as well.
I love the smell of real spruce, but the smell of pot that fills my house is all right, I guess...

How sweet would it be to have an 8 foot sativa for a Christmas tree? Christmas morning and everybody gets scissors to chop off their presents. Then it's turkey time!
