Does anyone know about the high watt CFL's? Can you just give them straight power or is there some kind of conversion going on. I saw a 150w replacement bulb at Home Depot. I went to school for electrical many years ago before the introduction of CFL's. I know the smaller edison base ones have their own ballest, but is it the same for the mogul base models? If so then I can just build a socket/reflector my self for next to nothing right?
