Personally I think intelligence is tied to confidence. When I feel intelligent I can figure out some very difficult things. When I feel stupid I find myself much less capable. It really depends
I deleted this first line about 6 times in a concerted effort to remain civil, and avoid insult.. here goes lucky number 7:

I pity you if you think 153 is a rediculously high IQ. I am not saying it is insignificant, for it is above genius level, but just barely. I myself scored a 149 on an IQ test I took when I was 9 years old in the fourth grade. I have personally met MENSA members with IQs in the 2 and 300's. I am not sure what information you base your opinion on, but it is misguided. I am not trying to be mean, and for all I know, you could be right, and he could be lying.

But that still doesnt take away from the fact that 153 does not, in any way, qualify as being rediculously high. High, and even impressively high... but not, by any means, rediculously so.

I'm still trying to learn about myself.

But, the guy I see, wait, how can I rate myself when there's no one for me to compare to? It's not like I've rated people, before.

I guess, I'll have to be.

I'm not a genius but I do know how to spell, and you did spell ridiculous incorrect. However, I hardly ever use punctuation in forum postings. As far as IQ testing at age 9 and having a score of 149 I have no knowledge about early testing. I now forgot what the hell this topic was about, dammit MJ

149 on an IQ test when you were 9?? Me-thinks' not, helmet head; you cant even spell ridiculous(there should be no space between the last word of a sentence, and the following punctuation mark)!
    There ya go!

Absolutely correct. I happened to misspell "ridiculous." A recurring error of mine, and one that I dont lose any sleep over. I also happened to misspell "misspell." In a spelling bee. Ironic, I know.

Either our countries have two TOTALLY different laws of grammar, or your post was just as erroneous as mine, if not more so. Regardless, I was not lying about my IQ test.. that would be quite the waste of time, wouldnt it?

Either way, you dont belong in this argument, but I suppose you are more than welcome to stuff your other foot in your mouth if there is room.

lol I spell that word wrong regularly, so Im not sweating it. My grammar and punctuation in internet forums vary depending on my mood. Sometimes I am feeling rather extravagantly eloquent, and I want to express myself precisely. Other times I am just trying to convey a simple message. Thats the beauty of the internet. Oh, and I almost never use an apostrophe in forum postings.

The 149 is no lie or exaggeration, however I wouldnt put too much stock into it. Intelligence Quotient is just another exerpt in Homo Sapiens' vain quest to compare himself with others of his kind. I have seen brilliant people who scored low on the tests, and morons who scored above genius level.

If we blast oxygen and carbon into it, maybe we can make steel?

What I think is funny, is that because of this thread, you started another thread wondering why we use the color red for corrections

It's two words. Miss Pell...you forgot the space.

I believe her first name was Stephanie, she'll answer to "Steph".

But, I never heard anyone call her Steph Pell.
