Advice desperately needed please! Seroxat & Cannabis???

Hi, im Becki, im 20 and live in the UK.

I used to be on Seroxat for treatment of OCD, Anxiety Dissorder & depression, but i decided to give it a break last january and stopped taking them.

Since then i've found cannabis and also solid/hash (cheaper than cannabis!) and its done wonders for my depression and my days feel less empty and worthless. And the suicidle thoughts stop.
But sadly, being on Incapacity Benefit & DLA means i cant afford to buy cannibis & solid all the time (although i try my hardest. lol)

Basically, due to the fact my mental health issues return so badly when not under the influence, im thinking of returning to Seroxat (Paroxetine) as a long term thing aswell.

What my questions is..

Can Cannabis & Solid be used with Seroxat (only 15mg's a day) safely without seriously causing me any damage?

Would really apreciate some help with this.

An internet forum is probably not a good place to seek medical advice, a CPN, GP or pharmacist would be a better place to ask about interactions.

That said, personally, I have continued to smoke whilst taking Seroxat and several other SSRI type antidepressants. I've never noticed any symptoms that could indicate the drugs were interacting poorly with cannabis and my doc's has always been aware of my weed intake when prescribing.

So I don't think there is a big risk of anything major. The doc is always pretty good at telling about the health consequences of my behaviour, but I have never been told to stop smoking because of an SSRI. I couldn't smoke regularly whilst on a tricyclic because together they cause weird heart beat irregularities.

Do talk to your doc about your 'other drug use' when you ask about an AD. It is important for your doc to have accurate info about your habits before they make decisions about what is safe to prescribe.

I mentioned cannabis use to mine once and he told me not to touch it for any reason (i hadnt told him i was doing it, just enquired) and that nobody should use it and i'd just basically be asking for schizophrenia.
Hence why i am on here for advice =/

Thank you though, think i might give it a shot, see how it goes.. if i find one disagree's with the other then will do the most sensible thing and come off one of them (im aware of coming of seroxat slowly). Although in those circumstances i truly see the seroxat being given up not the weed. lol

He sounds like a pompous old git, I'd be searching out a new doctor, one with a little less scare monger and little more knowledge.

yo I take the same thing and smoke all the time...never seems to have any bad side effect. watch for extra-drowsyness tho...and keep in mind that what works for me may not work for you...
