Working out and hunger
I'm not sure where this thread belongs, isn't really medical MJ related, so I just put it in the canncom thread. I know a lot here are really into fitness.
My question is--I'm going to start working out again; haven't worked out for over a year. I usually do 30-45 min. cardio, then Nautilus on my abs, arms, back, and legs, on avg., every other day. The first couple of weeks I did this, it was great, I was toning up, looking forward to the actual workout, etc. Then, I started noticing my appetite was HUGE. I was coming home and eating everything in sight, so I stopped working out. I realize this is just my body needing the extra calories for the extra physical work, but I'm wondering if I'd stuck it out, would the hunger pangs have gone away? I want to be better prepared this time.cm8883 Reviewed by cm8883 on . I've noticed this too. With me, it even increases my sex drive. Maybe it has something to do with a boost in your testoserone? Your body needs something that you are not giving it so it tells you that you are hungry. Are you eating proper well-balanced meals? Maybe a multi-vitamin will take care of any deficiencies your body has and you will be hungry less.

I eat a light meal, power bars, fruit is good, but fruit has sug, if its time to eat, your bellies gonna growl,
you must eat balanced meals
have you been tested for diabetes? could be a blood sugar thing
you can mask the hunger pains if you tell yourself,
"Ive been fed",
take your mind from eating, food period

Thanks for the insight. I will definitely have to start having a small, nutritious meal an hour or two before working out (I usually go after work, a long time since my last meal). I know that I actually should already take a multi-vitamin daily, I just don't do it; I can see how that would definitely help the hunger pangs, too.

No, you are hungry, because you expend so much energy and you need to replenish it.
Listen to your body. Eat (but not too much).

Try having a good hearty breakfast every morning, with lots of protien, soya and beans, mushrooms if you are vegetarian. Plenty of salt, don't worry about exceeding safe government health department limits, you'll soon sweat it it out and it'll improve you skins complexion. Carb meals in the evening. If you feel like eating eat. Get some cooked spinach in you 3-4 days per week, very good for maintaining stamina levels.
